Hi I'm Luisa Puterman, a musician and sound artist from Brazil. I strongly believe that the act of listening is a powerful thing. I do music and sound design for exhibitions, film, dance, installations and learning experiences.
Since 2013 I have participated in art residencies such as Red Bull Music Academy, OneBeat, BANFF, LABVERDE and K3. For me residencies are the core of my artistic practice and a fertile ground to dive into community building, collaboration and research. In 2020/21 I was part of Jan Van Eyck Academie in the Netherlands and now I am currently working as a PhD at the School of Creative Media, in Hong Kong. As a researcher I'm part of the WANWU, an art and ecology group led by the artist Bo ZHENG. As an artistic director I've been leading OneBeat Virtual, a cultural exchange program, produced by Found Sound Nation that brings artists together to a shared online space where we investigate new forms of collaboration. From 2016 to 2023 I have worked as co-director and co-founder of MIHN (Imaginary Museum of Natural History), a small nonprofit that connects sounds, people and ecology and I have worked with cultural institutions, art exhibitions, music festivals and public spaces around the globe. I also sometimes do playlists for restaurants and events. And I am always around to meet new people and make new sounds!
